Karen Kocharyan: Opposition gave incumbent President possibility to win elections

The 2013 presidential elections will be interesting not in the respect of who will win but in the respect of their results, political technologist Karen Kocharyan told reporters in Yerevan.?

According to the expert, after the elections, there will be serious fight inside the ruling power for clarifying which camp the country should choose: oligarchic or political, and which foreign political course the country should take: European or Eurasian as well as about who will represent the new opposition.

?Immediately after the elections, serious political and economic fight will start in the political arena, not only for distribution of places and positions but also for influence,? said the political technologist.

It is the opposition that caused this political situation in the country, and by refusing to run in the elections, the opposition gave the incumbent President the possibility to win the elections, said Kocharyan.

?The February 18 elections will be not the victory of the incumbent President but rather his inauguration,? the expert noted.

According to him, either Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian or ex-Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan will come second in the elections.
