Quick, prior to her recent breakdown, what did you know about Demi Moore? That she appeared in one of cinema's most iconic love scenes, married a younger man and was on great terms with her ex-husband, right?
That's not a lot of information, especially in this celebrity gossip culture, which is why one friend tells People magazine the actress is "embarrassed" by her hospitalization and subsequent 911 call release.
"Ego-wise, this is the worst thing that could happen to Demi, because she's such a private person," the source says.
However, Moore practices Kabbalah, a type of Jewish mysticism that is all about overcoming adversity. Her pal hopes this faith can lead to a major turnaround.
The star's downfall "can be an opportunity, a blessing, and not a curse," says the mole. "The right intervention happened in her life. From a spiritual sense, it is a gift. She has a real opportunity to grow from it. She has to take responsibility for her life."
Let's all hope she does exactly that.
